CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead after a vehicle collided with a C.A.T.S. bus on N. Tryon Street Saturday night.
The CMPD says at about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday night, officers responded to an accident in the 4700 block of N. Tryon Street near Sugar Creek Road.
Investigators believe the C.A.T.S. bus had just pulled off from a stop when a 2007 Nissan Sentra ran into the back of the bus.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra was unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene by MEDIC personnel. The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of kin.
The C.A.T.S. bus had 14 people on board but no reported injuries.
Speed was not a factor in the accident according to police but drug and alcohol use is suspected for the driver of the Nissan Sentra.
The case is still under investigation.
