CHARLOTTE, NC — Emergency crews evacuated more than 30 people from the Stephano Foods frozen pizza manufacturing plant Tuesday afternoon after a nitrogen leak was reported.
It took fire crews over an hour to control the leak at the business located on Hovis Road in west Charlotte. Officials say 30 patients were evaluated and six were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators have not yet said what caused the leak.
