Police: Search Warrant Turns Up Stolen Cell Phone, Drugs
Lincolnton, NC– Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies say while serving a search warrant for a stolen cell phone they uncovered illegal drugs in a residence in Denver, NC.
Authorities say the search warrant was obtained after the owner of the cell phone reported that it had been delivered at an address where she formerly lived and a female there signed the victim’s name for
the delivery.
Deputies say they also seized methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The apartment was occupied by three adults and a six-year- old child at the time the search warrant was executed.
Lincoln County DSS was contacted and the child was turned over to his mother.
McKenzie Brooke Sherrill, 25, was charged with one felony count each of obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of a controlled substance Schedule II and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. She was also charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of stolen goods, larceny, and child abuse.
Shane Lewis Hamrick, 35, was charged with one felony count each of speeding to elude arrest and possession of a controlled substance Schedule II. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of a controlled substance Schedule IV.
