90-Year-Old Pedestrian Hit Monday In NW Charlotte Dies From Injuries

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police say the 90-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle Monday in the parking lot of a BI-LO Shopping Center in northwest Charlotte has died.

Andrew Harrington was taken to CMC-Main Monday after being hit by a 2013 Toyota Highlander on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road around 12:50pm. Around 3:48pm Tuesday, police say Harrington was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Investigators say Harrington was walking across the parking lot when he was hit by 76-year-old Priscilla Moretz’s Highlander. Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the accident at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.
