Governor Offers Reward For Deadly Shooting in Anson County

WADESBORO, NC — Governor Roy Cooper is offering a $5,000 reward in connection to an Anson County murder that took place back in June.

The incident was a double-shooting that left one man dead and another seriously injured on June 6th.

Wadesboro Police responded to a shots fired call on Salisbury Street around 9:59pm. 60-year-old Wallace Sturdivant was found lying in a vacant lot across the street from Wadesboro Discount Grocery with gunshot wounds, according to reports. He later died from those injuries.

Charles Rivers, 52, was also found with gunshot wounds near the same vacant lot and was taken to CMC-Main for treatment. Rivers did recover from his injuries.
