Drug Operation Leads To Multiple Arrests In Monroe

MONROE, NC — Police arrested nine suspects and wrote eight citations during drug operations carried out on Friday and Saturday.

The following suspects have been charged:

  • Donneil Smith, 27 of Monroe was charged with possession of marijuana, resisting a public officer, and driving with a revoked license. Smith was transported to the Union County Jail where he was subsequently released on a $5,000 bond.
  • Santos Maradiaga, 44 of Charlotte was charged with two counts of trafficking opium and one count of felony maintaining a vehicle for use, storage or sale of controlled substances. Maradiaga is in the Union County Jail in a $200,000 bond.
  • Christopher Bean, 46 of Monroe was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. Mr. Bean was transported to Union County Jail where he was subsequently released on a $2,500 bond.
  • Brandon Ogle, 32 of Clover, South Carolina, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ogle is in the Union County Jail under a $1000 bond.
  • Jermarious Brewer, 29 of Monroe was served with warrants for communicating threats and failure to pay child support. Brewer is in the Union County Jail under a $6,657.72 bond.
  • Kalima Heath, 35 of Monroe was charged with felony possession of cocaine and felony possession of schedule I. Heath was transported to Union County Jail where she was subsequently released on a $3,500 bond.
  • Don Eddie, 43 of Mineral Springs was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana ½ to 1 and ½ ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Eddie was transported to Union County Jail where he was subsequently released on a $7,500 bond.
  • Paris Craig, 33 of Monroe was charged with felony possession of cocaine. Ms. Craig was transported to Union County Jail where she was subsequently released on a $3000 bond.
  • Ricardo Padilla, 46 of Monroe was charged with possession of marijuana and released on citation. (No mug shot available)
