LENOIR, NC — An investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a burning home Tuesday afternoon.
Kenneth Owens, 61, was found dead inside his home on Sunset Street after fire crews responded to a large house fire around 12:43pm. Officials say the house was 25% engulfed when crews arrived.
Once the fire was controlled and firefighters were able to enter, Owens’ body was found inside. The investigation is being handled jointly by the Lenoir Police and Fire Departments as well as the SBI.
