Police Arrest Suspect Wanted For Multiple Armed Robberies In Charlotte
The Latest:
CMPD says they have charged 35-year-old Lucas Hawkins in connection to a string of armed robberies throughout the Charlotte area.
According to police, Hawkins was arrested at his job Tuesday after being identified as the suspect in the crimes. He is charged with seven counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.
Officials say additional charges may be filed.

Police say the man accused of robbing five businesses in the Charlotte area has now committed two other robberies.
According to police, the suspect robbed the Subway on Park Road around 4:47pm on December 7th. He robbed the store at gunpoint, took cash and took off.
Investigators say the man also entered the Carriage Cleaners on Colony Road on December 4th, pulled out a gun and robbed the business of cash.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s, approximately 5’10”, muscular, and bald.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD is asking for assistance identifying a suspect wanted for a series of armed robberies.
On November 15, 2017, at approximately 11:55 a.m., a male suspect entered the China Fun business, located at 9020 Albemarle Road, and robbed the business at gunpoint of cash.
On November 17, 2017, at approximately 5:20 p.m., a white male suspect entered the Smoothie King, located at 3020 Prosperity Church Road. The suspect proceeded to rob the business at gunpoint of cash.
On November 19, 2017, at approximately 6:25 p.m., a white male suspect entered the Papa Murphy’s, located at 16015 Lancaster Highway. The suspect then attempted to rob the business but was unsuccessful and fled the scene.
On November 20, 2017, at approximately 5:14 p.m., a male suspect entered the Dairy Queen, located at 3020 Prosperity Church Road. The suspect attempted to rob the business with a firearm but was unsuccessful and fled the scene.
On November 28, 2017, at approximately 6:47 p.m., a male suspect entered the Starbucks, located at 545 Providence Road. The suspect proceeded to rob the store at gunpoint of cash.
Police believe all five cases are related. The suspect is described as a white male in his thirties, about five feet ten inches tall, with a muscular build and bald head.
