Original Story:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Regulated Metals Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Sydney Ellis, who currently has twenty-nine outstanding felony warrants.

On Friday, December 15, 2017, detectives with the Regulated Metals Unit were notified by a representative from the Apex Companies LLC that one of their employees had been selling company materials since September 2017 to local recycling centers.

During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Sydney Ellis, and obtained twenty-nine felony warrants for Larceny by Employee.  On twenty-nine separate occasions, detectives determined that Ellis, while employed by Apex Companies LLC, picked up materials from the company inventory and would take them to local recycling centers instead of delivering them to the I-77 construction sites.

Anyone with information concerning this case or the whereabouts of Sydney Ellis is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.  To learn more about the Crime Stoppers mobile app, please visithttp://charlottecrimestoppers.com/.
