NY Times Article Wants People To Rethink Their Views On Tonya Harding
CHARLOTTE, NC — In a new New York Times article called “Tonya Harding Would Like Her Apology Now,” Times Journalist Taffy Brodesser-Akner says the disgraced Olympic figure skater wants people to understand her side of the Nancy Kerrigan attack.
She doesn’t mean guilt or innocence, but rather respect, mitigating circumstances, how we treat people, and what we expect from them in the first place. The journalist writes that because Harding is so recognizable, “She is left to explain herself endlessly and hope that someone is listening.”
Tonight, the EDGE panel wants to know whether you think Tonya is simply misunderstood.
