Newly Released Surveillance Video Shows Ketie Jones Moments Before Her Murder In 2016

Detectives have released new surveillance video connected to the mysterious 2016 murder of Ketie Jones.

The video taken from a nearby building shows Jones walking along The Plaza shortly before she was killed in the early morning hours on October 15th. Jones’ body was found in a parking off Hamorton Place, just around the corner of where she is seen walking.

A vehicle is also seen backing up on Hamorton around the same time investigators believe Jones was shot.

CMPD notes that the clock shown on the video is slightly slow. You can see Jones enter the frame around the 16:13 mark.

Police ask anyone who may have been driving any of the vehicles shown in the video or who may have been in the area at the time to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Ketie Jones is one of 18 unsolved homicides last year in Charlotte, CMPD announced during a news conference Monday.

CMPD says they still don’t have any suspects one year after Jones was found murdered in Plaza Midwood. A gunman killed Jones around 3am as she walked home from spending time with friends.

Police found her body behind a real estate office at The Plaza and Hamorton Place. During today’s news conference investigators asked anyone with information to please come forward.
