Couch Chat: Eating Healthy While Eating Out

A new study says we’re eating out for lunch and dinner nearly 5 times a week. Whether you’re too busy to cook, going to a work lunch, or just on the go… there’s a way to keep it healthy. Dietitians say to fill up early on the right foods. Eat lots of proteins in the morning to keep you full!

And munch on healthy snacks like fruit, veggies or pretzels throughout the day.

Always watch portion size and eat slowly. Only order what you need, not what you want. And keep it simple and make good choices. Order something simple like an omelette or roast chicken and skip fried and breaded foods.

It’s always easier not to cook and more people are taking advantage of it. A survey says the average household spends $3k a year on eating out.
