NC Man Wanted For Stabbing Girlfriend Arrested In Upstate South Carolina

LINCOLNTON, NC — A Denver man wanted for stabbing his girlfriend earlier this week has been arrested in Greenville, SC.

Deputies arrested Wade Wallace Doering II, 30, at a Greenville hotel room Thursday. Officials say they also recovered the knife used to stab his girlfriend in Lincoln County.

On Tuesday, Doering’s girlfriend, 25-year-old Morgan Oates, was taken to the Sherill’s Ford Fire Department seeking help for stab wounds to her foot and shoulder. Oates was then taken to CHS-Lincoln for treatment.

Oates told deputies that Doering stabbed her at a home on Optimist Club Road, but he had already left the area by the time deputies arrived. Information gathered revealed that he was picked up from the home and was believed to heading towards Spartanburg, SC.

Doering is charged with one felony count each of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and first degree Kidnapping. There is no word yet on how long it will take for Doering to be extradited back to Lincoln County.
