CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queen City is unfortunately out of the race, as Amazon releases the finalists for its second headquarters.
The tech giant is still looking at 20 potential cities include Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Miami, Montgomery County in Maryland, Nashville, Newark, New York City, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Toronto and Washington D.C.
The company stated it evaluated each of the bids based on proximity to a major airport and ability to attract tech talent.
Amazon also stated it will work with each of these locations to “dive deeper” into their proposals, obtaining more information in order to evaluate how the city could accommodate company’s hiring plans and benefit its workers, as well as the community at large
Last year, Charlotte was one of several cities to make a flashy attempt to attract the company’s attention.
Amazon has said the second headquarters would be a “full equal” to its Seattle campus.
