York County Sheriff’s Office And CMPD Lead Procession For Detective Mike Doty

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — York County Sheriff’s deputies, CMPD officers, and other area emergency crews took part in a procession down I-77 Thursday to escort the body of Detective Mike Doty.

Doty was shot in the line of duty early Tuesday morning while searching for a suspect wanted in a domestic violence call.

The body of slain York County Sheriff’s Office Detective Michael Doty was escorted to the state line this morning. At the Moss Justice Center in York, deputies also set up a memorial for citizens wishing to pay their respects to Detective Doty. Anyone wishing to stop by can find the memorial set up in the traffic circle in front of the complex.
