CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person is dead following a single-car accident in east Charlotte Saturday morning.
The CMPD says the accident occurred around 6:13 a.m. on Saturday, January 20th.
Christian Lee McCullar, 23, died as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck.
Authorities say McCullar was speeding while driving west on Shamrock Drive towards Eastway Drive, when his Toyota Corolla crossed over the center line and ran off the left side of the road.
McCullar’s car went up a hill, hit a tree, went down the other side of the hill, before landing on a soccer field 50 feet away from the road.
McCullar was not wearing a seat belt, and speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.
