Caldwell County Murder-Suicide Under Investigation

GRANITE FALLS, NC — Officials have confirmed two people were found dead Wednesday as the result of a murder-suicide.

Officials say the bodies were found around 1:06pm by a person who rents a room at the home on Brookview Place. The man and woman, both 72-years-old, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators say it appears the man shot his wife with a handgun and then shot himself. Their identities have not been released at this time.

Officials say they were called to the home in the late fall of 2017, but did not specify what the call was about.
