Probation Search Leads To Cocaine Arrests In Lincoln County

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Two women were arrested Friday in Lincolnton for trafficking cocaine and possession of marijuana, according to authorities.

North Carolina Probation and Parole Officers along with Lincoln County detectives searched a home near the 1300 block of West Highview Lane in Lincolnton.

Officials say probation officers were searching the home of someone actively on probation when 39 grams of cocaine and four ounces of marijuana were found.

Detectives say the drugs could be worth between $1,500 and $4,200 depending on how they are packaged and sold.

Latrice Sharday Paulino, 22, of West Highview Ln. Lincolnton, was charged with one felony count each of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, probation violation and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances. Paulino was also charged with misdemeanor possession of
marijuana. She was placed under an $85,000 secured bond on the drug charges and a no
bond hold for the probation violation.

Kayla Myree Velazquez, of West High view Ln. Lincolnton, was charged with one felony count each of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances. She received a $70,000 secured bond.
