Doctors Study Rare Cancer Impacting Several Huntersville Residents
HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Concerned residents could have answers this spring or summer about a rare cancer that’s impacting people in the area. That’s when the results of a study are expected.
Retired eye doctor Mike Brennan spoke to a packed house about ocular melanoma, which effects only five in one-million people. Brennan says there may be environmental factors that contribute to the disease, but scientists are not sure what environmental factors to test.
The Town of Huntersville says it will explore creating a commission to update the community and see if further testing is needed.
