Monroe High School Evacuated Following Bomb Threat

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — In a message to parents, Monroe High School officials said the school was evacuated Friday morning while a bomb threat was investigated.

The message was also posted on the school’s Facebook page.

Parents,

“We have evacuated the building due to a bomb threat. All students are safe. Local law enforcement is checking the building at this time. We will move students back in the building once the threat has been lifted. Monroe Police Department will not allow anyone in the area until the threat is clear. Please do not attempt to come to the area. Thank you for your cooperation and respect for the safety of our students.”

Authorities or school officials have not released information regarding the source or credibility of the threat.
