Suspect Wanted After Deadly Shooting In Rowan County Taken Into Custody

An arrest has been made in Rowan County following the shooting death of 21-year-old Gregory Yarborough, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department.
Taedrin Sanders, 22, was taken into custody without incident Saturday morning and is being held without bond.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office says someone contacted Sheriff Auten to help arrange a meeting so Sanders could turn himself in peacefully.
At 11:30 a.m., Sanders turned himself in at a local business and also turned over the handgun used in the shooting.

SALISBURY, NC — Rowan County deputies have identified the suspect and victim in Friday afternoon’s deadly shooting.
22-year-old Taedrin Sanders is wanted for the murder of 21-year-old Gregory Yarborough. According to officials, a woman called 911 around 3:37pm to report Yarborough had been shot at a home on Gheen Road.
When deputies arrived, they found him injured and not breathing. Yarborough was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators were later able to identify Sanders as the suspect based on interviews and witness descriptions. Officials say he has been linked to several addresses including Summit Avenue in Kannapolis and Pearl Street in Salisbury.
