Two Concord Vape Stores Busted For Selling “CBD” Oil
CONCORD, N.C. — Two men have been arrested for selling “CBD” oil out of Concord vape stores.
Officials say Najamin Mudhish and Fuad Alshaibi have both been charged with Possession With Intent To Sell and Deliver Schedule IV Marijuana.
Authorities say Concord Investigators worked with the Cabarrus County EMS to research the “growing” issue of “CBD”oil in the community.
At 5:38 p.m. on Thursday, February 8th, with assistance from the Cabarrus County District Attorney’s Office, Concord Investigators served a search warrant for Dream Tobacco and Vapes #2 located at 3677 Concord Parkway South, where they arrested Mudhish, who is an employee at the store, and seized more than 300 bottles of “CBD” oil.
The investigation then led to the Dream Tobacco and Vapes Store at 2230 Roxie Street where they arrested the employee, Alshaibi, who owned the store, and seized 12 more bottles of “CBD” oil.
Concord Police say, “CBD” oil is illegal to possess or to be sold in retail stores, except for certain medicinal uses allowed by statute.
They also want to warn users about the dangers associated with the side effects of “CBD” oil. Police say no one can be sure what chemicals make up the oil that is being sold.
Samples of the seized oil will be sent to the state crime lab for analysis and the charges for Mudhish and Alshaibi may be changed if the oil has synthetic compounds other than “CBD” oil.
Officials say parents should speak to their children about the possible dangers of consuming unknown chemical compounds.
