BOONE, NC — A former Watauga County Medical Examiner is facing multiple charges after police say he was found drunk in his vehicle in the middle of an intersection Sunday evening.
Police say they found Brent Hall, 56, parked in the middle of the King Street and Highway 105 Extension intersection around 7:51pm. According to reports, Hall was intoxicated and uncooperative with officers when they asked him to exit the vehicle.
Additional Boone Police Officers and Watauga County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene when officers realized Hall had a handgun inside his vehicle.
Hall has been charged with Misdemeanor DWI, Misdemeanor Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Vehicle, Misdemeanor Resisting, Obstruct, or Delay an Officer, Misdemeanor Carrying a Firearm After Consuming an Impairing Substance, and Felonious Offering Bribes.
Hall has been placed under a $25,000 secured bond.
