Mecklenburg County Sheriff Cancels Re-Election Campaign Gun Raffle
CHARLOTTE, NC — Sheriff Irwin Carmichael announced Thursday that he is canceling a re-election campaign gun raffle following yesterday’s deadly attack in Florida.
One of the guns that was going to be raffled is similar to the one used by the suspected 19-year-old shooter. Sheriff Carmichael says holding the raffle now would be disrespectful.
The flyer below shows the guns that were going to be raffled during the fundraiser.
