Police Identify Pedestrian Struck And Killed In East Charlotte

The Latest:

Police have the identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on The Plaza Saturday night.

The CMPD says Tiffany Monique Ray, 41, died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained when she was struck by a Lincoln Navigator.

The driver of the Navigator stayed at the scene and was interviewed by police.

Investigators say Ray was wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk or at an intersection.

Alcohol and speed are not factors for the driver in the accident.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A pedestrian was hit and killed in east Charlotte Saturday night, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say.

CMPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred in the 3400 block of The Plaza.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation. No further information has been released.
