Funeral Arrangements Announced For Rev. Billy Graham
CHARLOTTE, NC — Arrangements for the late Rev. Billy Graham’s funeral were announced Wednesday evening during a news conference at theΒ Billy Graham Evangelistic Association headquarters.
A spokesman for the association says Graham died “peacefully” in his sleep at 7:46am at his home in Montreat. Graham’s physician, Dr. Lucian Rice, arrived about 20 minutes after his passing, says the famed evangelist “just wore out.”
The spokesman laid out numerous details during the news conference regarding the events leading up to and for Rev. Graham’s funeral.
Tomorrow afternoon, Graham’s body will leave the funeral homeΒ and travel to the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville.Β His body will then be transported back to Charlotte on Saturday where family will hold a private viewing at the Billy Graham Library.
Rev. Graham’s body will lie in repose at the Billy Graham Library Monday and Tuesday from 8am to 10pm. This will be open to the public.
Finally, on Friday, March 2nd at noon a funeral service will be held, which the spokesman says will last 90 minutes. It will be by invitation only.
Following the service, Rev. Billy Graham will be laid to rest beside his late wife Ruth, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 87, on the northeast side of the Billy Graham Library.
The Billy Graham Library will be closed, starting tomorrow, through Monday, March 5th.
