HICKORY, NC — A 58-year-old man will spend the next eight to 11 years in prison for fatally stabbing a man back in 2013.
Roger Frenceschini pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Wednesday.
Officials say Frenceschini stabbed 43-year-old Henry Hunsucker in the chest at a convenience store/car wash parking lot on August 17, 2013. Hunsucker then died as a result of that wound.
Frenceschini was identified by a witness at the scene who had seen the two men arguing, and even snapped a photo of them before the stabbing occurred.
According to court documents, Franceschini tried to hide the knife behind a wall at a nearby business, but it was eventually discovered by investigators. Blood on the knife tested positive for Hunsucker, officials say, and DNA on the handle was a match for Frenceschini.
