Woman Asked Her Bridesmaids To Pitch In On Her Wedding Dress

One bridesmaid says she considered dropping out of her friend’s wedding instead of helping pay for the bride’s dress.
The Australian woman says she was already asked to shell out $550 on a bridesmaid dress, but then the bride-to-be asked her seven bridesmaids to pitch in on her dream dress, which had a $10,500 price tag.
The future bride was also pretty demanding with her bridesmaid’s time.
She insisted they spend three straight weekends dress shopping and asked one bridesmaid to compile Excel chart comparing cake decorators.

While being asked to be in your friend’s wedding is a big honor, it’s often not cheap.
A bridesmaid in America will spend an average $1,500 on expenses including a dress, hair, make-up and travel, according to wedding retailer Weddington Way.
The average woman will be a bridesmaid about five times in her life, so ladies could drop more than $7,000 for someone else’s big day.

Guys are also expected to pay up to be in their buddy’s wedding.

According to a survey by GoBankingRates.com, the average groomsman spends around $1,000 dollars.
Men will shell out around $682 just for their friend’s bachelor party.
