Police say Mark Gavrilov, 22, has been charged for Monday’s bank robbery at a Wells Fargo on Matthews-Mint Hill Road.

Gavrilov is charged with Armed Robbery. He was arrested Tuesday by Matthews Police on Bathurst Drive.

MATTHEWS, NC — Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Wells Fargo Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at the bank located on Matthews-Mint Hill Road around 3:17pm. Officials say the suspect waited in line and then handed the clerk a note saying he wanted money and had a gun.

Police say he never showed a weapon, and no one was injured during the crime. He was last seen walking along Matthews-Mint Hill Road towards Brigman Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, roughly 5’7″, 160lbs, slim build, wearing a grey knit cap, dark jacket, grey t-shirt, khaki pants, and brown shoes. Police say he also had a band-aid on his left cheek.
