Coffee Shop Refuses To Serve Uniformed Police Officers

An Oakland, California coffee shop just opened a few months ago and it’s already turning away some customers.
But not just any customers
The owners are refusing to serve uniformed police officers.

The business explained why on social media, saying the Oakland Police Department has a history of corruption and scandal.
The coffee shop’s owners explained the policy is ‘for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves.’

The Oakland Police Department says it respects the business owners’ decision but is reaching out to the business to create a ‘constructive dialogue.’
