CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man charged in several sexual assaults on the campus of CPCC and in the University City area is now facing new charges.
David Kenney was charged over the weekend for three sexual assault cases that happened in the University City area. He was previously charged with two sexual battery incidents at CPCC last Wednesday. Now, he is facing seven new sex offense charges.
Kenney’s new charges include four counts of sex offense, one count of kidnapping, one count of rape and one count of attempted rape.
Kenney,39, was reportedly located Friday after a 911 call reported a suspicious male in the area. Authorities say he fled on foot but was taken into custody after a short pursuit.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, University City Officers say they responded to the Rite Aid at University City Boulevard in reference to a sexual battery. Upon arrival the caller stated that a male suspect had groped a female victim before fleeing the scene.
At 8:30 p.m., officers say they responded to University City Boulevard in reference to a sexual battery call for service. The victim advised police that she was outside of the business when an unknown male approached her and groped her then fled the scene.
A short time later, at 9 p.m., officers responded to University City Boulevard in reference to another sexual battery call for service, where the suspect matched the description of the previous call.
Almost two hours later, Officers responded to Campus Walk Lane in reference to a check the welfare call for service. Upon arrival, officers located a female who stated that she was sexually assaulted by a male suspect near Mary Alexander Road.
