MORGANTON, NC — A 30-year-old man will spend the next five to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to a deadly accident on June 1, 2016.
Leon Robert Creasy pleaded guilty Tuesday to Aggravated Felony Death by Vehicle. Officials say Creasy was impaired when he crashed his 1986 Toyota pickup into a tree off Hartland Road and killed his passenger, 54-year-old Richard Cecil Church.
Records show Creasy had been convicted of DWI roughly two months before the deadly crash, in April 2016.
