Local Students Explain Impact of National School Walkout

Several Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools will allow students to walk out of class Wednesday morning as part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about gun violence and school safety.
The walkout will last for 17 minutes to represent the 17 victims killed at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida one month ago.
Two of the student organizers from Hough High School, Grace Elliott and Dyonna Wilkerson, stopped by for an open conversation about how safe students feel at in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools, and the other ways they plan to protest violence.
