CHARLOTTE, NC — Southeastern Grocers announced Thursday they will be closing 94 underperforming stores, including nine in North Carolina.
The company says the closures will be part of a restructuring agreement that also includes voluntarily filing prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. The company says it is a necessary move to ensure the long-term health of the business.

Nine North Carolina stores are included in the list of closures. They are:
- BI-LO 205 NC Highway 9 Black Mountain, NC
- Harveys 6320 Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC
- Harveys 4430 The Plaza Charlotte, NC
- BI-LO 595 Us 601 Bypass South Concord, NC
- BI-LO 2204 Union Rd Gastonia, NC
- BI-LO 1955 Davis Park Road Gastonia, NC
- BI-LO 427 North Generals Blvd. Lincolnton, NC
- BI-LO 1555 E. Union Street Morganton, NC
- BI-LO 9101 Matthews-Pineville Pineville, NC
“It is our goal to work through our financial restructuring as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we will emerge from this process likely within the next 90 days,” the company said in a release sent out Thursday.
