Teen Charged In Connection To Charlotte Gas Station Homicide

CMPD has charged 17-year-old Tyrelle Dai’shon Gaston in connection to the March 4th murder of Daquan Shannon.

Investigators say Gaston, who was present at the time of the shooting, voluntarily came to police headquarters Tuesday to be interviewed. After speaking with detectives, he was charged with Discharging a Weapon into a Moving Vehicle.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide after a teenager was shot and killed at a Charlotte gas station.

The CMPD says at about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers responded to a shooting at the QT Station located at 5209 Central Avenue.

Officers located Daquan Shannon, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound.  Medic transported Shannon to Carolinas Medical Center-Main, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made.
