Man Gets Ride To CVS For Armed Robbery, Driver Not Charged

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a man for robbing a Charlotte CVS at gunpoint Tuesday night.

The CMPD says at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday evening, officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the CVS located at 5700 Albemarle Road.

Witnesses said a man came in the store and displayed a gun before demanding property from the business.  The suspect then got into a vehicle outside and left the scene.

Officers shared a description of the suspect vehicle to the Real Time Crime Center and the vehicle was located and stopped shortly thereafter.

The passenger, identified as Brandon James, ran from the traffic stop but was apprehended after a short foot chase.

The driver of the vehicle had no knowledge of the robbery and was released without charges.

James was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Resisting Arrest.
