Parents Charged After Toddler Found Wandering, Naked In Iredell County Mobile Home Park
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — The Parents of a three-year-old have been charged with child abuse after the child was found wandering around Harmony Meadows Mobile Home Park without clothes.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says arriving deputies found the child inside the home of the person who reported the incident.
Deputies stayed on the scene until the Department of Social Services arrived but the parents never came looking for the child.
Contact was finally made with the child’s mother, Devon Erin Dilorenzo, 25, who said she had been asleep and did not know her child was outside. The child’s father, David Velazquez Castillo, 27, was also asleep inside the home.
Iredell County DSS took the child for safe keeping.
Devon Erin Dilorenzo and David Velazquez Castillo were each charged with one count of Misdemeanor Child Abuse and given a $15, 000 secured bond.
