U.S. Army Reserve Soldier Indicted On Multiple Sex Trafficking Related Charges

CHARLOTTE, NC — A local soldier with the U.S. Army Reserve has been indicted on multiple charges related to sex trafficking.

28-year-old Xaver Boston, of Charlotte, is the subject of a federal indictment that was unsealed Thursday following his arrest. According to the indictment, Boston is charged with six counts of Sex Trafficking, one count of Inducing a Person to Travel in Interstate Commerce for Purposes of Prostitution, and two counts of Using an Interstate Facility to Promote a Prostitution Enterprise.

The indictment alleges that Boston was operating a prostitution enterprise between 2012 and Spring 2016, and again between Spring 2017 and September 2017. During that time, officials say he sex trafficked young women, including one girl that was a minor.

The women were advertised on the website Backpage.com, according to the documents, and Boston would collect the money for his own profit.

The indictment also accuses Boston of providing the women with illicit drugs to help control their actions, and using violence to punish those he suspected of withholding money, lying, or refusing to follow his directions.
