Bidder Interested In Buying The Carolina Panthers Visits Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man who could be the next owner of the Carolina Panthers will reportedly be in town Wednesday.Β  That man is said to be a Canadian steel company CEO.

A Panthers source tells WCCB they cannot confirm or deny the report.

The Charlotte Observer says the CEO’s name is Alan Kestenbaum.Β  The paper is reporting that he and several associates will be at Bank Of America Stadium Wednesday to get a closer look at the franchise.

Experts say the team will likely sell for more than $2 billion. Kestenbaum, a native New Yorker, is known for turning around struggling metal companies.

Panthers owner and founder Jerry Richardson announced he would sell the franchise in December.Β  That announcement came just hours after Sports Illustrated reported on allegations of sexual and racial workplace misconduct.

The league is still investigating those allegations.
