Camp Snoopy Offers Improved Experience For Carowinds’ Youngest Guests
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β Spring is here and that means a new season at Carowinds, which brings some great changes for the smallest park visitors.
Snoopy and the gang raised the flag for the first official day of the new season on Saturday, March 24th, 2018, and park visitors were able to experience the newly renovated Camp Snoopy, which was formerly Planet Snoopy.
Camp Snoopy is an ode to the natural beauty of the Carolinas, and Carowinds is providing a fun atmosphere for families with young children to relax while also offering some new exciting rides for the smaller guests.
There are six new rides and attractions including:
- Camp Bus: Buckle up on the wacky camp bus and take a ride that will lift guests up, down and all around.
- PEANUTSβ’ Trailblazers:Get behind the wheel of a Jeep-themed vehicle and burn rubber on a small, round speedway
- Kite Eating Tree: Ride along in a kite vehicle that takes you 20 feet to the top of the tree and gently brings you back down.
- Pig Penβs Mud Buggies: Guests will βdriveβ around the popular Pig Pen character while bouncing on a bumpy ride.
- Woodstock Whirlybirds: Spin around in an oversized birdβs nest on this classic teacup ride.
- Beagle Scout Acres: This 8,000-square-foot climb and play area, located behind Wilderness Run (formerly Lucyβs Crabby Cabbies), provides plenty of room to run, play and climb, and lots of shade.
The changes were made with the guest experience in mind and Carowinds did a great job.Β It seems like they really understand how to better accommodate families with younger children.
A fountain and seating area has replaced The Character Carousel near the front of Camp Snoopy.Β The Character Carousel is now The Grand Carousel and is located near the Vortex in the new Carousel Park plaza.
A day at Carowinds is always fun but, with 400 acres to cover at the park, everyone needs to get off their feet at some point. The new pergola covered seats will be wonderful for those moments when someone in your group needs to sit comfortably, and the communal aspect of the fountain will add to the family ambiance.
The new rides like the Camp Bus and Kite Eating Tree are varied in design and will surely make the little kids feel like big kids!
Anyone with toddlers knows how nice it is to let the little ones run free and expend some energy!Β At the new Beagle Scout Acres, kids can play with other children in a safe playground atmosphere with lots of shade.Β There are slides, a play house and, of course, a sand box.
Snoopy and the PEANUTS crew are also around to take pictures and entertain fans with live shows.
The Snoopy Boutique is now the Camp Store and the Snack Shack is the Camp Cook Out.Β New food items are available as well, like a smoked brisket bacon cheeseburger and the Carolina bird dog.Β Oh yeah, be sure to try the new S’mores funnel cake or fried Oreos when you’re craving something sweet.
The new Pre-K Pass is a free season pass for that offers complimentary admission for children three to five years of age for the entire 2018 season!Β Β Combined with the kid and family-friendly renovations to Camp Snoopy, Carowinds has created an even more welcoming destination for visitors of all ages to make new memories that will last a lifetime.
The park is open during spring break, so make plans to visit Camp Snoopy if you haven’t already!
