Neighbor Says She Heard An Explosion Before Fire Erupted At Huntersville Home

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville Fire crews are trying to determine what sparked a large workshop fire Wednesday night.

Officials say heavy fire was showing from a workshop behind a home on Rollingwood Drive when crews arrived. Officials say no one was inside when the fire started, and no injuries were reported.

A neighbor in the Crosswinds neighborhood tweeted they were in their backyard when they heard what sounded like an explosion.

Moments later, the neighbor says they saw black smoke.

Crews say they were able to contain the blaze to the outbuilding, garage, and workshop area, but damage was extensive. Officials say no other homes were damaged.
