CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have charged a man in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a missing woman who was found last week.
Detectives say the case was a domestic violence-related incident.
The CMPD is not releasing the name of the female victim due to the nature of the crime, but they say she was initially the subject of a missing person investigation that began on Monday, March 26th, 2018.
Jamuel Alston, 35, has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, three counts of First Degree Forcible Rape, First Degree Kidnapping and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Authorities say the victim was found on March 27th, 2018, severely beaten in Alston’s home. Police believe she may have died if detectives did not find her as soon as they did.
