CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials will announce the return of International Champions Cup to Charlotte. The official announcement will be held 11am on Thursday, April 19th at Romare Bearden Park and is open to the public.
The event will include a jersey swap, remarks from local officials, announcement of all match details by an International Champions Cup executive, appearances by legendary players from international clubs who will play in Charlotte this summer, activities, giveaways and photo opps.
The International Champions Cup is an annual soccer tournament known for bringing world-class soccer to the masses and slating marquee match-ups that attract record-breaking crowds – including the largest recorded attendance for a soccer match in the United States. Kicking off the 2018-2019 international soccer season, this year’s chase for the Cup features 18 of the best clubs in the world playing 27 matches across the United States, Europe and Singapore.
The 2018 International Champions Cup will feature the largest number of teams, matches and venues in the Tournament’s history, along with the first ever Women’s International Champions Cup.
