Tree Falls On Wagon Carrying Guests At Zootastic In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A woman and a boy were severely injured after a tree fell on a wagon carrying passengers at Zootastic in Iredell County.

According to the owner of Zootastic Park, around 3 p.m., they heard what sounded like a tree crack and shortly after a woman’s scream. The owner says when they got to the scene, they saw a tree had fallen between two cars on the wagon. There were more than 50 people on the wagon. A woman suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Baptist Health in Winston Salem. A boy was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for what appeared to be a broken leg. The owner of Zootastic Park says three others were treated on scene but refused transport. There is no word on what caused the tree to fall or how old the tree was. The owner says they will use another part of the park for wagon rides in the future.
