Officials: Fire At Vacant North Charlotte School Was Intentionally Set

CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators say a fire that broke out Tuesday morning at a vacant north Charlotte school has been ruled arson.

The fire happened just before 11am at the old Double Oaks school on Prince Hall Avenue. It took crews about 20 minutes to get the flames under control, but no injuries were reported.

Investigators say the fire was intentionally set, and the investigation is ongoing. Damages have been estimated at around $10,000.
