Community Leaders Meet To Discuss Economic Impact Of I-77 Toll Lanes
MOORESVILLE, NC — As toll lane construction continues along I-77, community leaders are saying it will hurt economic development in the area.
The NCDOT advisory committee met Wednesday night to talk about the economic impact of the toll lane. The lanes will go 26 miles from the Brookshire Freeway to Highway 150 in Mooresville.
Some commissioners say the design of the lanes will drive large companies away. Others say it will hurt small businesses.
Bill Russell with the Lake Norman Chamber says the toll lanes could keep millennials from looking for work in the area.
