CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A teenager has died after being hit by a car in north Charlotte Friday afternoon.
The accident happened at about 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of North Tryon Street.
Police have only described the victim as a 13-year-old Hispanic female, and say she was standing at the median crosswalk when she stepped into traffic and was struck by a 2000 Honda Civic.Β The driver of the Honda stopped immediately after the accident.
The pedestrian was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main with life threatening injuries.Β At 8:44 a.m. on Saturday morning, she was pronounced dead from the injuries suffered in the accident.
Speed nor alcohol were factors for the driver.
