One Dead, Three Injured In Union County Motel Shootout

MONROE, N.C. — One person is dead and three others injured following a shootout at a Union County motel.

The shooting occurred at about 1:13 a.m. Sunday morning at the Relax Inn on highway 74.

Vashawn Colston was pronounced dead at the scene.  Christian Cole is in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his neck and back.  Terrence Wingo is in serious but stable condition with gunshot wounds to his arm and back and Montavis Huntley was shot in the leg.

Officers collected 53 pieces of evidence including both weapons that were used and say that Colston and Cole were the shooters.

The case is still under investigation.
