LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Authorities say an Iron Station man has been charged after the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a sexual assault on a child.
Detectives began the investigation on April 16th after the eight-year-old female victim was interviewed at the Lincoln County Child Advocacy Center.
During the interview, officials say she disclosed being sexually assaulted by the defendant who also gave her money and asked her not to tell anyone, according to a news release.
The incident reportedly occurred on April 14th.
Detectives say the suspect, Peter Justin Desveaux, Jr., 26, admitted to committing the crimes.
Desveaux was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate where he was charged with one felony count each of crime against nature, statutory sex offense with a child and indecent liberties with a child.
