CONNELLY SPRINGS, NC — A suspect arrested for breaking into and stealing from vehicles may be linked to multiple unreported crimes throughout the area.
Deputies say 34-year-old Douglas McCarver has been charged in connection to several breaking and entering cases involving motor vehicles and a theft in the Rhodhiss area that were reported back in early March.
McCarver was identified as the suspect, according to a release, while detectives investigated several more crimes reported throughout March and into April. He was arrested on Wednesday.
During his interview, officials say they learned McCarver may have also been responsible for multiple unreported crimes that are now under investigation.
He is currently charged with two counts of felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, felony Larceny of a Firearm, felony Possession of a Stolen Firearm, misdemeanor Larceny, and misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods. Officials say additional charges are expected.
